Every Root We Sell Comes from Our Wisconsin Farm
When you buy ginseng from Heil, you’re buying a crop we grew ourselves. All our ginseng comes from our own Wisconsin farm. We never blend it with ginseng grown in Canada or Asia.

A family farm, a crop that takes years
Our family has farmed here since 1953. Joe and his father later began growing ginseng. Today we are Wisconsin’s largest ginseng grower by harvested pounds, with three-, four- and five-year crops.
The same source across our products
Whether you choose whole roots, slices, powder, tea or capsules, the ginseng is ours. Fresh roots are available during the season, from September through mid-January. Our five-year dried roots are our most premium selection and our first recommendation for a gift.

We keep the harvest records
Our records connect orders to harvest lots. Testing documents are not automatically included with an order. If you need particular documentation for a purchase, ask us about it before ordering.
We also work with Michigan State University researchers on plant health and growing practices. Read about that work in the gardens.
