About our fresh ginseng
What arrives, how to use it, and how to keep it fresh.Fresh Wisconsin-grown American ginseng root from our family farm, sold by net weight and shipped in its fresh, perishable form.
What you receive
Choose 8 oz, 16 oz, 5 lb, or 10 lb. The size selected at checkout is the total fresh-root weight that ships. Individual roots naturally vary in size, shape, crown, branching, and surface appearance.
Fresh versus dried root
Fresh root contains more natural moisture and has a firm, crisp texture. Dried root is shelf stable and better suited to long-term pantry storage.
How to use it
Rinse before use. Slice thinly and steep in hot water, or add slices to soup, broth, stew, or congee. Start with a small amount and adjust to taste.
Storage
Refrigerate promptly after delivery. Keep the roots sealed or wrapped to protect freshness and use them promptly.
Seasonal availability
Fresh root is a seasonal product. Available during the fresh-root season while supply lasts. Orders are processed within 2–3 business days.
Natural variation
Shape, branching, surface texture, and the number of roots in a package vary naturally. The 8 oz package is shown in the gallery; every size is sold by the net weight selected at checkout.
Safety
Ask a qualified healthcare professional before use if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or managing a health condition.
