Blemish Mix details
Origin, order size, preparation, and storage.Sound Wisconsin-grown ginseng roots with cosmetic blemishes. Every root is grown by our family and sorted by appearance. Available in 5 lb and 10 lb bags.
What blemish means
The roots themselves are sound and good to use. “Blemish” refers only to their appearance: a surface scar, wrinkle or other cosmetic mark. We sort these roots separately because they fall below the appearance standards for our premium selection. They are a good choice for everyday tea and cooking. The mix can include three-, four- and five-year roots; each bag is sold by weight, without a promised age blend.
What you receive
Choose 5 lb or 10 lb. A 5 lb order contains five 1 lb bags; a 10 lb order contains ten 1 lb bags.
How to use it
Carefully slice the dried root before steeping or cooking. Add slices to hot water, soup, broth, or congee and adjust preparation to taste.
