Which Ginseng Should I Buy?
Think about the next time you’ll use it. If that’s a quick cup of tea, start with tea bags. If you enjoy cooking with ginseng, slices or whole roots may suit you better. Everything here uses ginseng we grow ourselves in Wisconsin.
Buying a gift? Choose a bag for one person or several.

For the easiest cup: tea bags
Add hot water and follow the package directions. There is no root to cut or loose pieces to strain. Shop tea bags.
For tea and soup: slices
Ready-cut slices go straight into a cup or pot. They are a useful choice if you like the root itself but want less preparation. Shop slices.
For traditional preparation or a gift: whole roots
Choose three-, four- or five-year dried roots. Five-year roots are our most premium selection and our first recommendation for gifting. Whole dried roots are hard, so take care when cutting them. Choose a root age.

For stirring or blending: powder
Use the package directions to add powder to a drink or food. Some may settle in liquid, so stir again before drinking. Shop powder.
For a ready-measured option: capsules
Capsules come in a 60-count bottle with serving directions on the label. See the capsules.
For harvest season: fresh roots
Available September through mid-January. Refrigerate on arrival, and wash only when you're ready to use them. Choose an amount you can use promptly. Read the fresh-root guide.
